The yield of raw material from northern Greece, had a sharp drop in 2013, decreasing from 140k T of 2012 to 35k T. Hostile weather conditions during June delivered an average increase of the cost of Greek Olives ranging from 50% to 70%. On the other hand the Italian harvest reported a negligible price variation, for 2014 opt for Italian Olives! The Italian table Olive industry, from the latest data available shows an annual yield of 76k T, ranking third in the EU after Spain and Greece. The leading regions, Sicily and Apulia, sum together almost three quarters of the total production. The best known Italian types are: Nocellara del Belice and Etnea, Bella di Cerignola, Leccino, Gaeta and Taggiasca.
