UMAO, Mediterranean Union of Oil Tasters, is a no profit organization established in 1995 to preserve the culture of extra virgin olive oil and of typical food products.The staff is made up by recognized expert tasters, at both national and EU level, and has been engaged in analytical and educational activities since its establishment but it also welcomes simple fans and lovers of olive oil, that through the association get back to the noble concepts of food culture.This year UMAO has promoted MONA OLIVA the first National Competition to award the best Table Olives. A technical scientific board, through several sensory analysis, has rated four recognized production processes:
Sweet Castelvetrano olives
Sevillan method olives
Natural black olives
Natural green olives
Ficacci Olive Company has been ranked first in two different categories: Sweet Castelvetrano olives & Natural black olives. An important recognition that credits the excellent work carried out by our Purchasing Department.
